Summer Summary 2023

battleaj

I've had a fantastic season and extended break from school. Aside from my life changing trip to Rome (to read more click here), I renovated my basement, designed and built the porch of my dreams, spent time exploring new painting methods, designed the site map for a campus icon sculpture walk, created the digital content for ETSU's Arch. Autocad course, & finally made time to revamp the bulletin boards in my major building.

I replaced the outdated and water damaged flooring in my basement with Luxury Vinyl Plank, scraped popcorn ceilings, painted the ceilings and walls, and replaced an interior door & trim.

I designed and built a screen extension to the existing railing of my back porch and attached aluminum roofing panels to the porch joists above.

I didn't accomplish much in my creative painting endeavors, but I have enjoyed experimenting and taking my time with new mediums.

This is a sneak peek to my next painting project for The Philosopher's House. I've played with 3D additions to this piece including wood sculpting, connecting canvases, and origami. I'm still working on this project and enjoying the novelty of different materials.

For an Independent study that extended into the summer session, I created this statue walk, to read the project description and legend, follow this link.

One of the greatest challenges of the summer was creating content for the Arch Autocad course. I thoroughly enjoyed the process and learned so much. To see some of the drawings, click here.

Finally, I was so happy to change out the backgrounds on these boards since I walk by everyday. Thank you to the College of Business and Technology for their trust in me.

It's been such a transformative season, I am excited for what Autumn holds!

Thanks for reading and catching up with me.
